The world’s first Critical Care Hybrid Jenny by MS Westfalia was awarded with the Red Dot, the international distinction for high design quality. Participants from 57 nations had registered about 5,200 products and innovations for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016. Only products which set themselves apart considerably through their excellent design receive the sought-after quality seal from the international Red Dot jury.

Jenny is the world’s first modular Critical Care all-in-one solution. Compact plug-in modules with the functionality of a high-end ventilator, monitor and defibrillator provide continuous patient attendance throughout all critical care phases. Flat space saving design in line with rubberized protection materials and an ergonomic handle allow both mobile and stationary application. One user interface for all critical care functions and a responsive touch screen support quick intuitive interaction, data analysis and therapy decision support.

A jury consisting of 41 leading experts from all around the world awarded Jenny for outstanding design, a high degree of innovation, ergonomics, functionality, and perfect quality of the materials. Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and president of the Red Dot Award: “With their performances, the Red Dot winners not only demonstrated an extraordinary design quality, but they also showed that design is an integral part of innovative product solutions.”

All award-winning products are presented in the special exhibition “Design on Stage” for four weeks, before becoming part of the permanent exhibition in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen.
